Fundraising Challenge 2025

New Year, New Classrooms: Let’s Build a Better Future Together

Why?

At St Peter’s, we believe every child deserves an inspiring and comfortable place to learn. Unfortunately, funding challenges have left us with three old, inefficient temporary classrooms. These classrooms are costly to heat, uncomfortable in extreme weather, and unsustainable for the future.

With rising costs and a real-term decline in funding, we face challenges not just in upgrading facilities, but also in providing curriculum resources, subsidising school trips, and keeping the school running efficiently. That’s why we’re launching “New Year, New Classrooms”—a community-driven fundraising challenge to upgrade our temporary classrooms*.

What?

We’re aiming to raise £100,000*, and we want to make every step of this journey fun, exciting, and inclusive for the entire St Peter’s family!

We are halfway up our fundraising mountain, and now we need your help to keep climbing! Our fundraising challenge is all about taking on fun personal challenges and getting sponsored—not by parents, but by wider family, friends, and neighbours who haven’t yet contributed.

We’ll be having challenging non-uniform days, spread throughout the year. Each class will have a small prize for the most creative participant.

FRIDAY 27th JUNE
Colour Explosion – Show us how many colours you can wear at once!

We’re also bringing in the action with three sporty challenges inspired by a triathlon:

  1. Wheels Day – Complete!

  2. Feet Day – A fun cross-country race. THURSDAY 22ND MAY

  3. Swim Challenge – A splashy swimathon! Wb 29th SEPTEMBER

Get involved!

Can you and your child take on a sponsored challenge together? Here are some great ideas:

  • Sell old toys or clothes you no longer need.

  • Give something up—sweets, gaming, or treats for a set time.

  • Do something active—a sponsored walk, bike ride, or swim.

  • Get creative—sell homemade art, crafts, or comics!

Vote now!

As part of our fundraising challenge, we need a big challenge for Mr Hitchcock—and you get to decide what it will be! The children have come up with some daring, hilarious, and downright difficult ideas, and now it’s time for you to cast your vote.

Here are the options:

  1. Face his fears! Mr Hitchcock is terrified of spiders—should he hold a tarantula and conquer his fear?

  2. Take a leap! Despite his dislike of flying, should he skydive in fancy dress to raise money?

  3. A week in heels! Could he swap his usual shoes for high heels for a whole week?

  4. An epic climb! Should he run the equivalent height of Mount Everest? (That’s 88.49km of running!)

  5. The ultimate betrayal! A lifelong Manchester United fan, could he bear to wear a Manchester City shirt for an entire week?

  6. Role reversal! Should the children take over the school for a day, making all the big decisions?

  7.  Musical maestro! Should he learn to play an instrument and perform a live concert in the summer?

Which one do you want to see Mr Hitchcock do? Cast your vote and let’s make him work for it! Vote for your favourite here:

Every challenge, big or small, helps us get closer to our £100,000 goal. Let’s do this together!

How to get involved?

Visit our fundraising page to start your challenge or support others. Families can also boost their impact by exploring matched funding with employers—let’s double our efforts!

Together, we can build a better future for St Peter’s pupils, creating classrooms that are warm, efficient, and inspiring.

*If we are fortunate to exceed our target, this money will be spent on other essential school maintenance.
